FRIENDS OF PROVIDENCE

Join a community of people who believe every young person in Battersea deserves a trusted adult, a safe space, and a real chance. Monthly giving is the most powerful way to help us plan, hire, and deliver with confidence.

WHAT IS FRIENDS OF PROVIDENCE?

Friends of Providence is our community of regular monthly supporters. Together, you help us deliver consistent, high-quality youth work in Battersea, the kind that builds long-term relationships, not just one-off interventions. Watch the short film above to hear why it matters, and then join us.

WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES

We believe every supporter deserves to know exactly what their gift does. Here is what our collective giving delivers in practice.

Our aspirational target for individual giving by 2029

3x

Our goal: to triple individual giving over the next three years

Staff Costs Covered by Friends

26% today100% goal

Together, our Friends of Providence supporters currently fund approximately one quarter of a full-time youth worker's annual employment cost, including salary, pension, training, and DBS checks. That is one more trusted adult, present every week, building the relationships that keep young people engaged, safe, and progressing.

Our target is to grow individual giving to £40,000 a year by 2029. At that level, our supporters collectively fund a part-time role in full, giving us the staffing stability to grow our girls-only programme, our mentoring caseload, and our community football sessions without relying entirely on grant funding that can disappear overnight.

RAISE FOR PROVIDENCE

You do not have to give alone. Some of our most impactful support comes from individuals and groups who fundraise on our behalf. Here are some ideas to get you started. Every pound raised goes directly to young people in Battersea.

Sponsored Walk or Run

Take on a 5K, 10K, half marathon, or anything in between. Ask your network to back you and donate the proceeds. Even a local park run can raise hundreds.

Faith Community Collection

Ask your church or place of worship to dedicate a collection to Providence House. Our Christian roots mean faith communities understand what we are about.

Workplace Fundraiser

Organise a team challenge, bake sale, or payroll giving campaign at work. Many employers will match donations made by their staff, doubling your impact.

Quiz or Games Night

Host a quiz night with entry tickets, a raffle, and a charity auction. Invite friends, family, and colleagues and turn a social evening into real impact.

Birthday or Anniversary Appeal

Ask for donations instead of gifts and dedicate your celebration to young people in Battersea. A simple social media post is often enough to raise hundreds.

Dinner Party with a Collection

Host friends for dinner, share our story, and pass round a collection at the end. Intimate, personal fundraising like this builds lasting supporters for Providence House.
